A man was sitting by a lake, looking out at the water. A Wise Man passing by noticed the absorbed look on his face, so he decided to talk to him:
“You look like you’re trying to solve a major problem in your head,” said the Wise Man.
“I am,” the man said. “I can’t seem to figure it out. No matter what I do, no matter what I say, or how I handle it, the results are always the same.”
“I can help you with that,” said the Wise Man. “Here’s what you do: Whatever you’ve been doing, stop doing it.”
A bit puzzled, the man answered: “But you don’t even know what my problem is.”
“I don’t have to,” said the Wise Man. “Everything is a seed. And if that seed isn’t producing the harvest you want, you’re either watering the wrong seed or you’re planting in the wrong spot.”
“Seed?” asked the man, confused. “But I don’t have any seeds.”
The Wise Man smiled, and said: “Everything you do and don’t do is a seed. We’re all farmers. And we’re always planting and harvesting something.”
