The Power of Imagination

What’s happening in your imagination? Can you see it? Can you feel it? Believe it or not, in spite of the fact that it is your imagination, your subconscious mind does not know that it isn’t real. So to it, it is indeed factual.

What does that tell us about our imagination? Well, it tells us that this 3-pound organ that we call our brain is a lot more powerful than we give it credit for. The idea that my subconscious mind believes whatever images or footage I present to it is cosmic. This tells me that anything I play on the movie screen of my mind, my subconscious will accept it as truth, and pass the message down to my body, and my body will therefore produce a response, which we all know as an emotion. So in essence, an emotion is produced from a belief that is constructed from the thoughts we pass over to the subconscious mind. And our reaction is based on a theory. Supposition. Assumption.

Think about it. Someone could tell you that you’re going to die, your spouse is cheating, or the world is ending. And based on the pictures and footage you play on the movie screen of your mind, which your subconscious mind is constantly watching — it will then respond by coming to its own conclusion, considering the evidence you provided it with — whether it’s legit or not. Your subconscious then shares that information with your body, they have a discussion, and from that discussion, an emotional response is produced. Then you react in the form of action.

Powerful, right? So are our lives essentially a by-product of our responses to our imagination and the thoughts we think?

Something else to think about: Is it possible to be convinced of something that isn’t true, and live an entire life based on that presumption? One of the saddest truths in our society is the acquiescence of everyone else’s truth. Most people don’t even have a truth. Instead, they passively adopt someone else’s as their own. What is that saying about us?

What are you passing on to your subconscious mind? Have you ever thought about it?
